NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2019
Let There be Peace on Earth
As I sit down to write this letter, I’ve just learned that the ship carrying my son has traversed the Strait of Hormuz and entered the Persian Gulf amid rising tensions between Iran and the US. Not only will these men & women not be home for the holidays, they are now directly in harm’s way. I can only wait and watch and pray for peace all around.
While listening to Christmas music and sipping my peppermint mocha, I heard a song I hadn’t heard since my kids were little. I really listened to the words and they perfectly reflect my Holiday message. The song is The Christmas Wish written by Danny Wheetman and performed by Kermit the Frog (you weren’t expecting that were you?).
I don't know if you believe in Christmas,
or if you have presents underneath the Christmas tree.
But if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for you to come and celebrate with me.
Christmas is a time to come together,
a time to put all differences aside.
And I reach out my hand to the family of man
to share the joy I feel at Christmas time.
For the truth that binds us all together,
I would like to say a simple prayer.
That at this special time, you will have true peace of mind
and love to last throughout the coming year.
And if you believe in love,
that will be more than enough
for peace to last throughout the coming year.
And peace on earth will last throughout the year.
Whether you celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus, Peace is a universal theme that unifies the season. Let us hope people the world over can remember this special feeling of unity and bring true Peace on Earth that will last a lifetime.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
